Fact Check and More Gripping Tales

Stalkers and perverts and pimps! Oh my!
These twenty-two aberrant tales were first published in journals that like wierd writing. An airheaded farm boy is adopted by a beautiful bird--a bird that squawks "fact check" whenever the boy gets into an untenable situation ("Fact Check"). A struggling writer pens a maudlin book to mock a critic, but the joke turns septic when the book becomes a best seller ("The Land Fish"). A stalker, arrested multiple times for harassing celibrities, is one day pursued by an equally-dogged ghost ("The Tallyman").
Other stories include a self-satisfied pimp who is running for city councilman ("The Good Pimp"), a boy who is picked up by a woman who is into necrophilia ("How I Got Me Some Standards"), and a substitute teacher with a wildly libidinous agenda ("How I Done Good in School").
Seattle Book Review states, "Fact Check and More Probing Tales is a dazzling collection of stories about people and events that run the gamut from mundane to astonishing, delightful to terrifying, all the while both entertaining and amusing. There’s plenty of humor, pathos, and grot to be found within its pages, and the included stories really do have something to offer everyone."
